Welcome to our best blog series, Mom-hood! I am so excited to share the advice, encouragement, and stories of some amazing moms with you. Every guest blogger is not only a mother, but a business-savvy individual who is raising their tribe the best way they know how. I hope this series is not only relatable and inspiring, but offers comfort in knowing that every mother doesn't have it all figured out, and we're all just doing the best we can with what we're given. Thank you so much, Amy for sharing with us your thoughts and feelings. I know I can definitely relate to a lot of this on my journey through parenting and I know our readers will, too. Xx Adrianne
Hi, I'm Amy! @amyepeters if you want to follow along my journey through motherhood on Instagram. I'm mostly a stay at home mom of my two boys, Avery (3) and Archer (18 months). We live on this east coast of Canada in the small province of Nova Scotia. Having two young boys is BUSY so we try to get out of the house as much as possible. We love travelling and going on little adventures.
Instagram has been a great space for me. I turned to Instagram as a way of capturing my families everyday moments and documenting the good stuff. Let's face it, I'm not really going to remember the meltdowns and dirty dishes or unfolded laundry piles. I subscribed to chatbooks so my photos, captions and memories would be printed on a consistent basis. I soon met more moms like me and became more and more comfortable sharing our life with my followers. Connecting with other moms all over the world certainly helps on those long difficult days.
That is a tough question, but I think it is the unconditional love. I have many days where I feel inadequate, or I didn't play with the boys enough, or they didn't eat properly, I was easily frustrated and lost my patience. No matter how I felt, or how our days went my boys always gave me unconditional love. It makes my heart so incredibly full.
Finding balance is a constant struggle. Finding time to keep the household going, keep the boys happy and entertained, fed and educated. It really takes a village. As my boys grow up, I’m finding that I am sort of looking for something for myself. Something other than my “mom hat”. I’ve worked myself into a small social media job, so balancing that and being home with the boys has been really refreshing for me. Getting a meal on the table after working all day is hard.
Enjoy motherhood. Soak up all the moments. Cherish your little ones, even when they drive you crazy. It all goes by too quickly.
I always get my lashes done. Lash extensions have been a game changer when getting ready and out the door. I go every 4 weeks for a lash fill and enjoy every moment of getting pampered. I earned it right? And the lashes distract from my tired eyes, so thats a win!
My grandmother always baked an abundance of goodies around Christmas and other holidays. It is something I always look forward to. My grandmother passed away but her recipes will always be cherished.
If I could have lunch with anyone, I would love to have lunch with my father and my boys. He passed away when I was 15 and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him. Family is SO important to me. I know he would be the best grandfather to my boys because he was the best father to me.
This is a great series for mothers. It is so important for us all to have that me time especially when the kids are small. We all need to reboot sometimes. Your advice to other mothers Amy is something we all need to do as mothers. The kids grow up so fast so it is so important to cherish every moment with them good or bad. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your experiences.
I love this. I checked out your Instagram feed, it’s super cute!

That advice "enjoy motherhood’ is really important! I was so focused on my baby I forgot about myself and I didn’t feel good so I even forget about enjoying that time. Really good interview and beautiful pictures
You’re so right about enjoying it, it goes by so quickly so enjoy every minute of it. Lovely instagram shots.
