Christmas is totally my favorite holiday. I remember as a kid, helping my mom carry down tubs of Christmas decorations from the attic, the day after Thanksgiving. We'd spend all night putting out all of the little trinkets, trimming the mantel, and playing Christmas music while bopping around the living room. I enjoy getting the chance to carry on the tradition in my family with my boys. When they're not whacking each other with pillows or throwing pine cones at the dog, the magic of the twinkling lights has them entranced and really, nothing beats hearing their little voices sing their rendition of some of our favorite childhood Christmas carols.

I typically like to decorate with neutrals, but I believe in Christmas and that to me is the bright reds and greens, with a rustic charm of burlap, plaids, and furs. There is just something about it that makes me feel like I'm in a log cabin in the woods, except we're by the beach, in a coastal Charleston-style structure. Hey, a girl can dream! I just knew the kids were going to love having the bright colors in our home for the holidays.
By sharing our space with you, I hope the photos convey a feeling of warmth and love. Our favorite thing to do is cozy up close to the fire and take it all in. After all, the absolute worst thing is in January when you have to take it all down! We're going to soak it all in while we can.
I'm going to keep the rest of the post, pretty short and sweet, with sources listed at the bottom of the photos. A lot of my decor came from Target, so you may not see that item listed. If there's something you have a question on, feel free to leave a comment below!
