“Baby”moon can be taken lightly, since it’s more like “kids” moon when you have 3. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I probably would have felt that nagging feeling like I had left something at home if we actually snuck away sans-kids. A few weekends ago, we decided to go all in and make a thing of it. If we were bringing the kids, we needed a resort that was not only family-friendly, but fit our 4-star adult taste and while we were at it, why not throw in an experience of a lifetime with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween one night at Walt Disney World. Even Coba, our dog was treated like royalty. I don’t think we could have planned it any better ourselves.
The Four Seasons Resort in Orlando exceeded all of our expectations.
At first glance, the resort is absolutely AH-mazing! The staff is 100% and so helpful, we instantly knew this was going to be one of the best vacations ever. Upon check in, the kids were given maps which encouraged them to go on a scavenger hunt throughout the property so that they can score a free ice cream. They loved the challenge and it helped us get to know the lay of the land before we really dug in. Our room was a generously sized King bedroom suite with a pull out sofa. I loved that we had 2 full bathrooms and a HUGE full length balcony with a perfect view of Magic Kingdom. We could see the nightly fireworks show right from our room. The boys absolutely loved it!
After checking in we instantly hit the ground running and headed to the splash pad and pool. The kids had such a blast. It was the perfect depth for all of the boys, including Cason, but what was really a fan fave were the water slides! The older boys had fun racing each other or going head to head against grandpa + dad. We honestly just soaked in everything the resort had to offer and spent the entire rest of the day just relaxing and enjoying the property. We got to spend some major quality time together and that just made my heart seriously SO happy…
At night we enjoyed the movie by the pool, Coco, which was perfectly accompanied by a poolside snack (popcorn), that was passed out to everyone by the pool attendees. Aden and Hudson decided they’d rather watch from afar in the hot tub. [reference: bougie kids] We also took the easy way out and ordered dinner from the pool bar + grill, aptly named PB&G, to our cabana so we didn’t have to change out of our bathing suits. Let’s just say it was the best decision ever.
The next day we slept in (does 7am count with toddlers?) and decided that we wanted to take it easy at the resort for the morning before heading off to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (bonus photos at the end). The boys enjoyed more of the pool area and kid-zone while I headed to the spa for a much needed Maternity Massage…. alone. It was a dream. A serious dream. The additional spa services were just as amazing as my massage, so I took advantage of all of their amenities like the experience shower, the steam room, jacuzzi and relaxation room.
Some of our other faves at the Four Seasons were the volleyball and basketball in the pool, life-sized checkers at the Kids Zone and last but definitely not least, the lazy river. I particularly loved the hanging baskets, where I could park my pregnant bum in style. To those not rocking the bump like me, they have an on-site bar at the adults-only pool that I definitely would have taken advantage of. Maybe next time I’ll take them up on the margarita.
BIG BIG thank you to our friends at The Four Seasons Orlando for hosting our stay. I’m already planning our next trip back!
