We are big on making the “everyday” special around here. After all, there’s always a reason to celebrate! Back to School is no exception. Your baby hit a new milestone, will learn new things, and take on new challenges. And you, well you survived summer, you rockstar! Here’s a few ideas to commemorate the occasion:
End of Summer Outing
Think Mommy (or Daddy) & Me Day…It could be a movie (complete with all the snacks), lunch at their favorite spot (with dessert of course), a day at the pool, some shopping, or a trip to the zoo. Give them some ideas and let them choose how to spend their day. Take lots of pictures and make it a yearly tradition to look forward to!
Special 1st Day Breakfast
Whether to you that means getting up at 4am to make pancakes in animal shapes with fresh squeezed orange juice or grabbing donuts for the whole class on the rush to beat the bell, all that matters is you make it something they look forward to on the 1st day of each school year.
1st Day Photo
There are so many fun spins on this idea (thanks Pinterest). I like taking their photo in the same spot on the 1st and last day to see how much they grow through the year butI’ve also seen cute variations on this including, wearing the same large Tshirt with their graduation year on it to watch them grow into it and holding last year’s photo of themselves for this year’s photo. However you choose to do it, it’s something you (and they, eventually) will love looking back on.
Get a Mani/Pedi/Massage…whatever
Ok, this one is for you. You know you deserve it.
Do you have a special back to school tradition? I’d love to hear about it!
Xx,
