As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, I can't help but reflect on my past year. I have so much to be thankful for each and every day, but especially over this past year. We have been beyond blessed in so many ways. The health of my family and everyone I love, will always be first and foremost. My boys that make me whole and inspire me to be better than I was the day before. Also, I'm thankful for my husband, quite literally my other half, that I'm lucky enough to get to do this crazy life with...I feel full knowing I have them all beside me. And for that, I'm grateful.
I've enlisted the help of some of my fellow small business owners to help me celebrate and reflect on the reason for the season. I hope you're inspired to reflect on your own blessings after reading their beautiful words.
Kylie Bean // Assistant for Little Adi + Co // I started drinking coffee this year, so I'm very thankful for that. #gamechanger But on a serious note, I am thankful for the wonderful opportunities that I've been given this past year, my family + friends who have supported while pursuing these opportunities, the amazing #girlbosses who I work with that I truly admire and look up to, and a fabulous boyfriend who I get to share this life with, and who brings laughter and love into my life every single day.
Lindsay White // Lot 801 // I'm thankful for my time here on earth. The ability to be with someone I love everyday and create an amazing human being, Allie our daughter. No job will ever come close to the titles I have: mother, wife, friend, daughter and aunt.
Kimberly Howard // Uh Oh Pasghettio // It's cliche, but my health! I had a major health scare right at Thanksgiving last year and I'm so grateful to be here watching my little guy grow up - to hear his little "mama!" shouts and to get all the snuggles and kisses.
Megan Burns // She Does Justice // I am so very thankful for the ability to support causes that are dear to my heart with the help of our awesome customers. My family and I am so honored to be able to give back like this!
Brittany Cozart // Busy Bicycle // We are thankful for healthy and happy family!
Kate Roginielewicz // Hazzard Lane Clothing // I am truly thankful for all of the love and support from our family members, customers, and our fellow small shop owners!! We would not be here without you all!!
Amanda Thiessen // Wild Frays // I'm thankful for the little everyday moments with my family. Going to the grocery store together, taking a walk in the neighborhood, watching a movie together, bedtime rituals... I'm so incredibly thankful for those moments. They often get lost in the craziness of life and sometimes everything gets so routine and mundane but those little moments with my family are my absolute favorite and I'm so thankful for each and every one of them.
Kate Dziegrenuk // Assistant Extraordinaire of Wrenn Jewelry & Loved by Hannah and Eli // Besides my always understanding family, my super fine husband, great friends, and a roof over my head? I'd have to say my career. I love working and collaborating with small businesses every single day. And I love getting to know all the people along the way! I truly am blessed.
Jennifer Durham // Little Faces Apparel // As always, I am thankful for the good health of my family and friends but this year I am so very thankful for all of those that have supported our small handmade shop. We have been able to "meet" so many great customers and other small businesses throughout this year and without their support, we wouldn't be able to live our dream!
Stefanie Weakley // Abby Maddy Designs // I am thankful for so many things in our life, but I am especially thankful for my business, and the ability to work at home (wherever the Army decides that is). I am thankful for a husband who supports me fiercely and passionately and that I get the opportunity to teach my children how to follow their dreams. And I am thankful for the handmade community and being surrounded by strong, independent, motivated women who always have my back!
Leisa Waldron // The Silver Loft // I am so thankful for this life. The good, the bad, the blessings and the hardships. They all combine together into one story I can call my own.
Elyse Middleton // My Little Milestones // I'm thankful for my beautiful son Archer and the happiness he brings us each and every day.
Kalla Whitacre // Live Kreative // I’m thankful for the love and support of my family, as well as all my new Live Kreative family believing in me and my brand and what we stand for. Their is nothing better then seeing kids in my clothes and knowing that I am helping to show them a healthy and positive way to live life and enjoy learning and being Kreative. Forever grateful.
Jeanne DuFauw // HopSkipJumpPaper // I'm thankful for cozy sweaters, swimming in an indoor pool during a snowstorm, snuggles + laughs with my boys, and the ability to run my own business.
Betsy Johnson // SwimZip // When Thanksgiving comes around, I am so thankful for so many things. But Family, Health, and Kicking Cancer are just a few that come to the top of my mind. I am so grateful.
Alyssa Duff // Evie's Gift // I am truly thankful for the unconditional love and support I have from my husband and son, it's one thing that keeps me going on hard days.
Kristina Yashchenko // Billy Bibs // It is impossible to count my blessings. I am so thankful for my family, my health, my small business, my home! Everyday is a big blessing from God. I get to wake up with no fear, no worries. We have food, water, shelter, clothes and every other necessity in abundance. I am thankful that I get to live in a country where we have so much freedom! I am thankful for the big opportunities that are available to me. I am thankful for all the wonderful women that inspire and encourage my business venture. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband who is the best person I know in every way. I am thankful for my beautiful healthy children. I am thankful for my customers. I could go on and on about the blessings that surround me and take up this whole blog post! I am so happy that we have a day to celebrate this gratitude!
Monique Brown // Rags & Royal // I could list a thousand things but to sum it up, I'm thankful for Gods grace over me and my family. Thankful for all the little presents I get each day, healthy children, laughter, friendships, the list goes on and on! :)
Lesley Hobbs // Mushybooks // I'm thankful for coffee in the morning wine in the evening and my three littles who make every exhausting day a blessing.
Stephanie Pascarella // Wash With Water // Thankful for a house full of children, a husband who is my everything, and a beautiful community around the world that has supported my labor of love Wash with Water.
Caroline Randall // Caroline Randall Made // I am enormously thankful for each and every customer, fellow shop owner and new friend I've made on this journey. But I am especially thankful for the doors that have opened allowing me to bless other families through donations to auctions and supporting charities of all shapes and sizes. I am excited about discovering new ways to bless others in the coming year!!
Rachel Fisher // Chewable Charm // I'm thankful for way too much to write down! Every little thing should be a counted blessing. After family, friends and good health, I'm really thankful this year in particular for our customers since this is our first year in business. Every kind words, referral and share is something I will always appreciate!
Harmony Theory // iiix kids // We've been increasing our threshold for thankfulness this year with each joyful photograph we receive of kids rocking our clothing! It's no surprise that we overlook many of the obvious reasons for gratitude in our daily lives when we are well fed, comfortably sheltered in climate controlled environments and in relatively good health. So rather than rattle off any of the obvious reasons to be thankful, this note is intended to remind us of the simple joy of living a life of purpose. We are grateful to be producing a purpose in the message of our brand. So to any and all that have supported our vision of a better tomorrow for our children to inhabit, it is with sincere thanks that we offer these words of gratitude from our family to yours this lovely holiday season.
Kari Hughes // Buy the Change USA // This Thanksgiving I am most grateful for the relationships I have been able to build over the last year. From fellow entrepreneurs, to bloggers to artisans from around the world, I am surrounded by amazing women.
Wendy Acosta // ZM Apparel // This holiday season I am thankful for all of our customers and supporters, without them my dream of being a entrepreneur wouldn't be possible. They have allowed me to spend more time with my son, watch him grow while working out of my home. I am thankful for my family who has sacrificed sleep and much more to help me along this journey. And lastly, I am thankful for my amazing son, who loves me unconditionally even on the "bad" days, the one that pushes me to be a better person and work hard every day. Its been an incredible and special year and I am forever thankful to everyone who has been a part of it.
