With both of my boys' nurseries I worked off what I already had in the guest room before it, including the furniture. The less furniture I had to move into storage the better. Hudson's room was previously our "black & white" guest room with an ode to NYC. It utilized all of our decor from our apartment in the city. I was so happy to be able to incorporate most of what we had in the guest room into this nursery. I also made sure that one of the key pieces we purchased for Aden, the glider, was a neutral color-way that could fit into any gender nursery for us to use with every child. One thing I love to do and highly recommend to you, is to make your home "yours". Think outside of the box when decorating the rooms, especially one for a new baby.
We repurposed and refinished furniture to match better and become more kid-friendly. I love the chalkboard top to the side table and it's so perfect that I don't have to worry about the kids spilling anything and ruining it. The picture ledges became the best toddler accessible book shelves - they work out great for Aden for when I'm nursing Hudson and don't have a free hand to pull books at his discretion. The lego storage block actually holds cars to play with on the road rug and it's super easy for little hands to open on their own.

Obsessed with the monochrome nursery!!
Love this room! Where is the polka dot rug from?
Hi! You have such great taste and it shows in this adorable nursery! I’m also wondering about the paint color – who knew it was so hard to find the perfect middle grey tone! If you have any more info on that, I’d love your input! Thank you!
Love this nursery! Thanks for sharing all of the many wonderful details! I wonder if you have the paint color specs that I could take to a paint store to get the same color? It’s such a beautiful gray!
Lovely nursery! Did you make your felt ball garland or did it come assembled from Michael’s? The chalkboard globe is one of my favorite pieces in little mans room too!
